A top GOP Senator just vowed to stop the Department of Veterans Affairs from pushing Joe Biden’s abortion-on-demand agenda

The purpose of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is to provide healthcare services to our nation’s veterans.

But Joe Biden has been using the VA for taxpayer-funded abortions.

And a top GOP Senator just vowed to stop the Department of Veterans Affairs from pushing Joe Biden’s abortion-on-demand agenda.

Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) held up hundreds of military promotions last year as a way to try and stop illegal taxpayer-funded abortions for service members.

But he’s now turning his attention to exposing the taxpayer-funded abortions within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

“On Tuesday, Sen. Tommy Tuberville plans to introduce the VA Abortion Transparency Act of 2024, a measure that would require the VA to provide quarterly reports as well as a variety of details surrounding its involvement in abortions performed,” Fox News Digital reported.

If passed, Tuberville’s legislation would require the VA to report the exact number of abortions provided each quarter, as well as the type of procedure used to perform the abortion – surgical or with a medication like Mifepristone.

The VA would also be required to report how many weeks pregnant the mother was along with all of the costs associated with performing the abortion.

Tuberville noted that the VA has been prohibited from providing any type of abortion services since 1992 and called it a “disgrace” for the Biden administration to fund abortions with taxpayer money.

“Congress has spoken,” Tuberville wrote in a statement to Fox News Digital. “The Veterans Health Care Act of 1992 clearly prohibits the VA from providing abortion services of any kind,” he continued, before adding that “for the Biden administration to twist the law into something other than what Congress intended and force the cost on the taxpayer is a disgrace.”

“Our veterans deserve a VA that is 100% focused on ensuring they receive timely and quality care, not on implementing Joe Biden’s abortion-on-demand agenda,” Tuberville added. “I am proud to introduce this bill that provides much needed transparency for taxpayers and holds the VA accountable.”

Tuberville is not alone in his push to increase transparency about abortions that take place within the VA.

Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Roger Marshall (R-KS), and John Cornyn (R-TX) have also signed on as co-sponsors with Tuberville.

Under the VA policy, Military.com reports that “a veteran or covered dependent is eligible for an abortion if the pregnancy is the result of rape or incest, or their life or health is at risk because of the pregnancy.”

Through September 30, Military.com reported that the VA had performed 88 abortions.

“60 were medication abortions and 28 were surgical,” it reported.

The Hyde Amendment bans taxpayer-funded abortions with limited exceptions.

The VA did not start providing abortions until September of 2022.

However, the VA refused to provide details of the 88 abortions it reported performing in the first year due to alleged privacy rights.

Joe Biden and the Democrats are determined to make abortion-on-demand with no exceptions up until birth the law of the land in America.

Worse yet, they’re forcing American taxpayers to foot the bill for the murder of unborn children.

Senator Tuberville is fighting to shine a spotlight on the evils and horrors of the taxpayer-funded abortion mills at our nation’s VA hospitals.
