The Left’s war on Christianity just reached a sickening new low.
Democrats are now weaponizing Scripture itself to defend the indefensible.
And a top House Democrat hit pro-life Christians with one devastating attack that exposed his twisted agenda.
Democrats twist Scripture to defend baby killing
Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA) – the same congressman who got caught up in a Chinese spy scandal with Fang Fang – has launched a calculated assault on pro-life Christians that left jaws on the floor.¹
The California Democrat appeared on MSNBC to praise Texas State Representative James Talarico’s recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, where Talarico made the breathtaking claim that the Bible actually endorses abortion.
Here’s where things get truly twisted.
Talarico told Rogan that Democrats are "the party that fights for the little guy" while simultaneously defending the systematic killing of the littlest guys of all – unborn babies.
The irony was completely lost on him.
"I get suspicious when anybody, whether it’s a televangelist or a politician, tells me that something is central to my faith when Jesus never talks about it," Talarico said during the podcast.²
But Talarico didn’t stop there.
He went on to claim that life begins at first breath, not conception, citing the creation of Adam as his biblical evidence.
"The Southern Baptist Convention was pro-choice until the late 1970s," Talarico added. "So this idea that to be a Christian means you have to be anti-gay and anti-abortion, there really is no historical, theological, biblical basis for that opinion."³
The claim is not just wrong – it’s heretical.
Any serious biblical scholar knows that Scripture clearly affirms the sanctity of life from conception, with passages like Jeremiah 1:5 ("Before I formed you in the womb I knew you"), Psalm 139:13-16 (describing God’s intimate knowledge of the unborn child), and Luke 1:41 (where John the Baptist leaps in Elizabeth’s womb).
But facts don’t matter when you’re trying to gaslight Christians into supporting baby killing.
Swalwell’s cynical Christian con game exposed
Swalwell was so impressed with Talarico’s performance that he decided to copy the playbook.
"I saw myself as a Democrat because Republicans fight for the rich and Democrats fight for the rest," Swalwell told MSNBC’s Nicole Wallace.⁴
Then came the real kicker.
Swalwell admitted he made a calculated decision to start appearing on Christian podcasts after seeing that 68 percent of voters identify as Christian.
"I made a decision after the last election, when I saw that 68 percent of the voters identified as Christian in one way or another, that I needed to do Christian podcasts," Swalwell revealed.⁵
Translation: Swalwell doesn’t actually care about Christianity – he just wants to manipulate Christian voters.
"I was raised as a Christian," Swalwell continued. "I went to a Christian college on a soccer scholarship, but I would not talk about my faith because I thought it didn’t really belong in politics. But what I’ve seen is that Republicans are weaponizing faith, and it’s actually to our disadvantage not to talk about it."⁶
Democrats’ abortion messaging collapses
Simple – Democrats know they’re getting crushed on this issue.
Roe v. Wade is gone, states are protecting unborn life, and polls show younger Americans increasingly identify as pro-life.
So now they’re trying to convince Christians that defending baby killing is somehow the "Christian" position.
The strategy is as insulting as it is transparent.
These are the same Democrats who spent years mocking Christians as backwards Bible-thumpers who need to get with the times.
Now suddenly they want to lecture us about what Scripture really says?
Swalwell and Talarico are wolves in sheep’s clothing – and their sheep costume is wearing thin.
Pro-life activists quickly debunked Talarico’s heretical nonsense, pointing to not just the biblical passages that affirm life from conception, but also early Christian texts like the Didache that explicitly condemn abortion.
The early church fathers understood what Talarico apparently doesn’t – that Christianity has always been on the side of protecting innocent life.
Swalwell’s condescending con game won’t work
The most insulting part?
Swalwell thinks Christian voters are dumb enough to fall for this obvious manipulation.
Swalwell thinks he can just show up on a few Christian podcasts, throw around some Scripture quotes, and suddenly convince pro-life believers that killing babies is actually God’s will.
The arrogance is breathtaking.
Here’s what Swalwell gets wrong about Christianity – it’s not a marketing strategy.
You can’t just show up on Christian podcasts spouting progressive talking points and expect to win over believers who actually read their Bibles.
Psalm 139 describes God’s involvement in creating children and Luke 1:41 still shows John the Baptist recognizing Jesus while both were in the womb.
Swalwell can appear on all the Christian podcasts he wants, but he can’t escape the basic fact that his party supports policies that result in the systematic killing of over 600,000 unborn babies every year.
That’s not fighting for "the little guy" – that’s fighting against the littlest, most vulnerable guys of all.
Christian voters aren’t going to be fooled by this cynical attempt to wear Christianity like a skinsuit while defending the indefensible.
The truth has a way of cutting through political spin – and the truth about where Democrats really stand on the sanctity of life is becoming clearer every day.
