Alabama Republican Senator and pro-life hero Tommy Tuberville is leading the fight against taxpayer funded abortions in the U.S. military.
This is something every single pro-life activist and group should support.
But as Senator Tommy Tuberville leads the fight for Life this supposed pro-life group remains silent.
The Washington, D.C. based SBA Pro-Life America claims to be at the forefront of the fight against Democrats’ abortion extremism.
But now that there is an actual, tough fight going on SBA remains sadly silent.
Tuberville deserves support not silence
And the fight SBA refuses to weigh in on is one that even moderate pro-life activists should support.
Senator Tuberville’s fight is against the Biden Pentagon’s plans for taxpayer-funded abortion.
In fact, Tuberville is fighting to stop something that is against the law.
It should be a no-brainer for any pro-life group, even a D.C.-based organization more akin to selling out than saving babies.
Yet SBA remains uncharacteristically quiet.
Their silence comes at a time when Tuberville needs pro-life support more than ever.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has threatened to bring a resolution that would let the Senate process military promotions en bloc, and Mitch McConnell and a few other Republican Senators have joined in the fight attacking Tuberville.
Even self-described 100% pro-life Senator Joni Ernst has shown her true colors by attacking Tuberville.
Clearly Ernst cares more about what Schumer and McConnell think than about actually saving babies.
This shameful display by Ernst, McConnell and a few other RINOs shows Tuberville is facing an increasingly nasty foe in his fight to save babies.
The time is now
And yet SBA stays quiet, instead focusing their efforts on supporting RINO Governor Glenn Youngkin’s 15-week abortion bill which would do next to nothing to save any babies.
But then that is what establishment access-based groups like SBA do on a regular basis.
For example, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer recently said of Tuberville’s fight, “Patience is wearing thin with Senator Tuberville on both sides of the aisle. What happened with the Marine Commandant just showed many people how dangerous what Tuberville is doing is. And so I will call for a resolution on the floor to allow us to vote on all these people at once. And I’m very hopeful and optimistic about it.”
In a statement to The Federalist, SBA’s VP of Communications E.V. Osment at least was quick to condemn the Biden administration for “illegally injected abortion into our military against the will of the American people.”
However, SBA wouldn’t tell The Federalist if it plans to score the Schumer-led vote as a pro-life vote. Nor did the allegedly pro-life group explain why it hasn’t consistently backed Tuberville’s pro-life stand.
Yet when Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) proposed a national 15-week abortion ban bill, which would only effect about 6% of all abortions, SBA was extremely supportive and the group even put out a press release praising Graham for the weak bill.
Graham, meanwhile, recently accused Tuberville of “doing great damage to our military” with his pro-life effort.
It would appear the SBA Pro Life America is far more concerned about currying favor with RINOs like Lindsey Graham and Glenn Youngkin than they are about actually ending abortion.
