Cassidy Report Reveals Abortion Pill Companies Have Never Punished One Prescriber

Joe Biden's FDA quietly stripped away abortion pill safety rules protecting women.

Sen. Bill Cassidy just spent months investigating what happened after those rules disappeared.

What his committee found about who's actually accountable will stop you cold.

What Cassidy's Mifepristone Safety Report Actually Found

Sen. Bill Cassidy, chairman of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, released his committee's findings Wednesday.

The report is titled "Mifepristone Without Guardrails," and the name fits.

Cassidy and Senate Republicans investigated three companies that make the abortion pill mifepristone – Danco Laboratories, GenBioPro, and Evita Solutions.

What they found should alarm every parent reading this.

Cassidy said abortion drug companies are "putting mothers at risk through their failure to properly oversee" the prescription and distribution of their own products.

He didn't stop there. Cassidy warned that online abortion pill sales have made it easier for predators to pressure women into abortions they never wanted, and he wants the FDA to intervene.

Here's how we got here. The FDA's old safety program required doctors to see patients in person and report nonfatal complications.

Biden's FDA gutted both requirements. That single decision opened the floodgates to phone prescriptions, online forms, and abortion pills mailed to strangers with zero verification of age, identity, or how far along a pregnancy actually is.

How Abortion Pill Makers Dodged Chemical Abortion Drug Oversight For Years

Danco Laboratories has pulled in an average of sixteen million dollars a year selling Mifeprex.

GenBioPro is even more dependent on the abortion business – ninety-five percent of its revenue comes straight from chemical abortion drugs, and the company supplies roughly two-thirds of the entire American abortion pill market.

Now look at what happened to safety reporting.

Danco reported about four thousand nonfatal adverse events between 2000 and 2016.

After regulators stopped requiring prescribers to report those events, that number collapsed to roughly one hundred fifty over an entire decade.

GenBioPro sold more than eight hundred fifty thousand units between 2019 and 2023 alone.

In that same stretch, the company reported about ten nonfatal adverse events total.

Neither Danco nor GenBioPro has ever decertified a single prescriber in the entire history of the program.

The committee also caught both companies redacting safety data in official FDA filings that they'd already disclosed elsewhere.

Cassidy didn't run this investigation alone. Sens. Steve Daines, James Lankford, Cindy Hyde-Smith, and the late Lindsey Graham joined him in demanding answers from the three companies.

Danco's active ingredient gets manufactured in Spain, then finished at a facility the company won't identify.

GenBioPro and Evita make their versions in facilities across India.

Evita received FDA approval for its version of the drug in October 2025 and has already begun selling it.

What Happened To Catherine Herring Shows The Real Cost

Cassidy's warning about coercion isn't theoretical.

A Houston jury heard exactly what that looks like when Mason Herring spiked his pregnant wife Catherine's drinks with an abortion drug in 2022, trying to end her pregnancy without her consent.

Catherine caught him on hidden camera. Their daughter was born ten weeks premature with lasting developmental delays.

She told the court her husband spent months "attempting to kill your child seven separate times."

That's the world these companies built when they walked away from oversight – a world where a predator can order abortion pills online and slip them to a woman who has no idea what's happening to her body.

Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life, didn't mince words about what Cassidy uncovered.

She said the report exposes "an abortion-pill system built on secrecy, self-policing, and astonishingly little accountability."

Live Action's Lila Rose made the same point when Cassidy first launched this investigation, pointing to data showing "one in ten women who take abortion pills experience serious complications." She said basic safeguards have been stripped away and the FDA needs to act now.

That action may already be coming. Cassidy's committee learned the FDA's own mifepristone safety review is expected to wrap up by September.

Acting FDA Commissioner Kyle Diamantas now has that report sitting on his desk, along with the numbers on Danco and GenBioPro's zero decertifications.

Catherine Herring already knows what it costs when nobody checks. The only question left is whether Diamantas reads that far before he signs off on anything else.
