Post-Roe America is quickly turning into a hostile place for people fighting for the lives of the preborn.
Radical Leftists are doing everything in their power to make abortion-on-demand up until birth the law of the land.
And Gavin Newsom once again proves how little he cares about innocent preborn life.
California passes law to protect physicians and pharmacists who mail abortion pills across state lines
Gavin Newsom is one of the most radical pro-abortion politicians in America today.
The California Governor has made it easier for women in his state to choose to end the life of expected babies up until birth.
State law says there are “restrictions” in the third trimester.
But they make exceptions for the “mental health” of the woman.
In September, California passed a law that seeks to export abortions to states with pro-life laws on the books.
Under the new law California seeks to facilitate the shipment of abortion drugs to states with restrictions.
Newsom hopes the new law will protect physicians and pharmacists in the state from prosecution by pro-life states.
Bounty hunters and bail agents could be prosecuted under California law if they attempt to apprehend these doctors under the direction of other states.
Some states like New York and Massachusetts have already passed similar laws but California will take it a step further.
According to The Associated Press, the new law will bar “state-based social media companies—Facebook—from complying with out-of-state subpoenas, warrants or other requests for records…”
Newsom is vowing an all-out war on “radicals” that seek to protect life in their own states.
California lawmakers promise that they won’t “back down” and they’ll continue to push abortion
Newsom signed the bill on September 27th alongside 8 other laws that he says will “expand access and protections for reproductive health care.”
California wants to be seen as a leader in abortion and “protecting people from other states’ abortion bans.”
Newsom says, “Radical politicians continue their all-out assault on women’s health care with dangerous and deadly consequences.”
“The right to abortion is enshrined in California’s constitution. We will continue to protect women and health care workers who are seeking and providing basic care,” he added.
California State Senator, Nancy Skinner promised that their lawmakers wouldn’t “back down” on this issue and that is why they sent these “groundbreaking new bills” to Newsom’s desk.
“These bills further strengthen and expand California’s legal protections for patients, doctors, nurses, and everyone involved in [abortions] and gender-affirming care,” she said.
Anti-life law could face major legal challenges by other states and religious groups
The move angered the California Catholic Conference that says that the state is “engaging in ideological colonization against states and citizens that do not want abortion.”
The group says it disregards other states’ interests in protecting life.
“Denying the legitimate interest of other states to protect unborn children and public health is a dangerous precedent,” they said in a letter to the California legislature.
The law could create disputes between states that will ultimately be decided by the Supreme Court.
SCOTUS is already in the process of reviewing a request by New York to intervene in a ruling by an appellate court that restricts mail-order access to the abortion pill.
California’s new law could add new complexity to the issue with their interest in mailing across state lines.
