The death of long serving Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein left a vacancy that had to be filled.

And Governor Gavin Newsome acted quickly to fill the void but shocked everyone with his pick.

That’s because Gavin Newsom’s pick to replace Senator Dianne Feinsten is more radical than anyone could have imagined.

California Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom announced he will appoint Laphonza Butler, the president of the radical pro-abortion political group EMILY’s List, to replace Dianne Feinstein in the Senate according to his spokesperson.

Pledged to name a black woman not a Californian

Newsom had previously pledged to nominate a black woman to replace Feinstein if she was unable to finish her term in the Senate.

And he has kept that promise by appointing Butler.

Clearly he never promised to appoint an actual Californian to the position.

And Newsom’s pick has infuriated pro-life Californians as well as Democrats.

That’s because though Newsom had previously said his pick to replace Feinstein would simply be a “caretaker” of the Senate seat, it did not go unnoticed that his selection of Butler was not contingent on her declining to run in 2024.

And the race to replace Feinstein in the 2024 elections already has a number of leading Golden State Democrats running including Congressman Adam Schiff, Congresswoman Barbara Lee, and former Congresswoman Katie Porter.

Newsom’s pick to fill out Feinstein’s term puts a wrench in the plans of these Democrats and their supporters.

Lee, a black woman, blasted Newsom for his “caretaker” remarks.

“I am troubled by the governor’s remarks,” Lee said following Newsom’s announcement that he would only appoint a caretaker to the role. “The idea that a Black woman should be appointed only as a caretaker to simply check a box is insulting to countless Black women across this country who have carried the Democratic Party to victory election after election.”

Black woman, check. Pro-Abortion radical, check.

In addition to filling Nesom’s requirement that the appointee be a black woman, Butler also checks another of Newsom’s boxes, being a pro-abortion radical.

In fact, Butler currently heads EMILY’s List, a radical left-wing political action group committed to electing pro-abortion Democrat women.

But it is through her work heading this groups that the first problems with the appointment appeared.

It turns out Newsom appointed a Maryland resident to hold the California Senate seat.

And while that is not illegal it is highly irregular and a slap in the face to Californians.

On their most recent FEC filings, EMILY’s List had Butler listed as a resident of Maryland, not California.

The pro-abortion group spent nearly $5 million in political contributions during the 2022 election cycle alone, according to OpenSecrets.

But Butler isn’t just a pro-abortion radical activist, she is an across-the-board left-wing organizer and rabble rouser.

Before her time at EMILY’s List Butler was previously an organizer with the powerful Service Employees International Union, according to Politico.

It seems that the only thing Butler isn’t is a Californian.

No wonder Shifty Adam Schiff is so mad.

Once again Newsom proves that the mass murder of children is the most important thing to him.
