Joe Biden was all smiles after Florida GOP Senator Rick Scott joined pro-abortion forces trying to overturn this pro-life law

Democrats are continuing their assault on life at every level.

And some Republicans have decided to join with them.

That’s why Joe Biden was all smiles after Florida GOP Senator Rick Scott joined pro-abortion forces trying to overturn this pro-life law.

Pro-life leaders have made great strides ever since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in the 2021 Dobbs decision.

Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory and babies pay the price

But in recent weeks, a number of Republican elites have locked arms with pro-abortion forces to destroy those gains.

The latest such betrayal comes from Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) who says he would support replacing Florida’s six-week abortion ban with a 15-week statewide ban.

Scott is literally calling for Florida to pass a law that would allow more than 94% of all abortions.

He said he believes an all but meaningless 15-week ban would reflect broader consensus over how to protect unborn life.

Scott completely ignores the fact that a 15-week ban doesn’t protect unborn life in more than 94% of the cases.

But Scott went even further, by saying any 15-week abortion ban should include the exceptions as well.

That means Scott’s version would in effect be a pro-abortion law that would kill countless more babies.

Scott, who is running for reelection to the Senate, laughably claims he remains staunchly “pro-life” and said he signed “every pro-life bill that came in front of me” while he was Florida’s Governor from 2011 to 2019.

But, unfortunately for Scott, pro-life leaders and activists alike know that working to repeal a 6-week ban with a 15-week ban with exceptions, is in no way pro-life.

A consensus for murder is still evil

Scott claims that “in Florida there’s way more consensus around 15 weeks with exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother.”

“So if I was writing a bill, I’d think that 15 weeks with the limitations [for rape, incest and to protect the life of the mother] is where the state’s at,” he told The Hill in a recent interview. “I think it’s important we do what there’s consensus for.”

He also claimed he’s not in any way backing away from his support for the pro-life cause but wants to put the focus of the Senate campaign debate on Democrats who are in favor of allowing abortions up to, and even after, birth.

While he is right about the radical Democrat position, Scott is dead-wrong about selling out the pro-life cause.

The fact is, supporting murder, even if it’s a “consensus” is still wrong, and frankly evil.

“I’ve been pro-life, and I think we need to continue to the importance of being pro-life and I think the other thing is we ought to be very clear that Democrats are barbaric. They want — they’ve already voted to allow abortion up until the moment of birth,” he said.

Asked specifically if he would favor replacing the six-week abortion ban signed into law a year ago by Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) with a 15-week statewide ban, Scott said: “If I was writing a bill, I think 15 weeks is where the state is.”

Scott is completely wrong.

A majority of Americans once supported slavery, forced sterilization, and eugenics.

That did not make any of those things any less evil.

And the same is true of abortion.
