Joe Biden was all smiles after issuing this new rule that will promote illegal abortions

More and more Americans are coming out in favor of Life every day.

And even though more than 55% favor restrictions on abortion, the Biden Administration is ramping up their radical pro-abortion agenda.

That’s why Joe Biden was all smiles after issuing this new rule that will promote illegal abortions.

Joe Biden’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has issued a new rule cracking down on the ability of prosecutors to obtain abortion records.

Taking aim at pro-life states

The new rule takes direct aim at the 24 states that have passed pro-life legislation since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in their 2022 Dobbs decision.

The new rule strengthens the 1996 Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), by providing certain protections for women who seek an abortion, as well as those who perform the procedure, even in states where it is illegal.

“The Biden-Harris Administration is providing stronger protections to people seeking lawful reproductive health care regardless of whether the care is in their home state or if they must cross state lines to get it. With reproductive health under attack by some lawmakers, these protections are more important than ever,” HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra said in a statement.

In April 2023, the Biden administration announced its plans to help protect women who travel out of state for an abortion from investigation.

At the time, HIPAA allowed for the disclosure of some health information to law enforcement officials.

Melanie Fontes Rainer, director of the HHS’ Office for Civil Rights, said that ever since the U.S. Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision which overturned Roe, health care providers have raised concerns about their patients’ records.

Especially whether the records of their patients who travel out of-state to see them will be requested by law enforcement.

“Patients and providers are scared, and it impedes their ability to get and to provide accurate information and access safe and legal health care,” Fontes Rainer said in a statement.

“Today’s rule prohibits the use of protected health information for seeking or providing lawful reproductive health care and helps maintain and improve patient-provider trust that will lead to improved health outcomes and protect patient privacy.”

An end around on pro-life state laws

The new Biden rule comes on the heels of an Arizona Supreme Court decision allowing an 1864 law to take effect that prohibits most abortions except for when the life of the mother is in danger.

And the rule is a blatant attempt at an end run around pro-life state laws.

By shielding abortionists from legal action, even when they are knowingly performing illegal abortions, the new rule opens the door for more “vacation abortions.”

It seems Joe Biden and his administration will stoop to any action to try and increase the number of abortions in the country, even if it means breaking the law.

It is expected that there will be a number of lawsuits against the new rule from pro-life groups, law enforcement, and state attorneys general.
