In January 2021, Joe Biden pulled America out of a global coalition defending unborn children.
Donald Trump put America back in within days of returning to office, and the coalition kept growing.
Now 43 nations stand with Trump, and one of the newest legalized abortion in 2020.
Javier Milei Signed Argentina Into the Geneva Consensus Declaration
That country is Argentina.
On August 12, 2026, President Javier Milei signed the Geneva Consensus Declaration and made Argentina the coalition's 40th member.
Milei is the chainsaw-swinging outsider who took on Argentina's big-government establishment and won.
He has never hidden where he stands on abortion.
"For me, abortion is a murder aggravated by the bond," Milei said in a 2024 speech at the Buenos Aires school he attended as a student.
In Argentine law, that means a killing made worse by a family bond, because the killer is supposed to be the child's protector.
Milei even called some pro-abortion politicians "the murderers with the green neckerchiefs," a shot at the green scarves worn by the country's abortion activists.
"The United States is so grateful for the friendship we share with Argentina, and we are thrilled to welcome your nation as a signatory," said Bethany Kozma, director of Global Affairs at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Mauritania and the Dominican Republic also joined the international pro-life coalition, and all three were welcomed at a September 15 luncheon on Capitol Hill.
Geneva Consensus Declaration Says There Is No International Right to Abortion
The Department of Health and Human Services, known as HHS, launched the declaration under Trump in 2020 with 32 countries, in the middle of the COVID pandemic.
It puts women's health first, defends every life before and after birth and treats the family as the bedrock of society.
It also says the thing the global abortion lobby can't stand to hear.
There is no international right to abortion.
Biden pulled the United States out on January 28, 2021.
Trump rejoined on January 27, 2025, one week after his second inauguration.
ADF International said returning the U.S. to the coalition "prevents the emergence of a false 'human right' to abortion by customary international law."
In plain English, every nation that says no makes it harder for UN bureaucrats to invent a right no one ever voted for.
In August 2026, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced America was taking back leadership of the coalition from Hungary.
Vince Haley of the White House Domestic Policy Council read a letter from the president at the luncheon.
"My Administration will always stand for the dignity of human life, the health and well-being of women, the strength of the family, and the right to defend these values and traditions," Trump wrote.
Chris Smith Told the UN What Mifepristone Abortion Pills Do to a Baby
New Jersey Congressman Chris Smith brought the fight down to one child.
By the time most women take the abortion pill, their baby already has a beating heart.
Smith recalled telling the UN Secretary-General that the drug mifepristone works by cutting off the nutrients that baby needs to keep growing.
The UN tells the world it wants to feed every hungry child.
"It is antithetical to a pro-humanitarian, pro-feed-the-future mentality when you starve little children to death," Smith said.
WHO Chief Tedros Is Pushing Abortion Decriminalization On Every Nation
The coalition is growing because the other side isn't slowing down.
On May 7, 2026, the World Health Organization rolled out new tools in Geneva to help countries close the gap between their laws and WHO abortion standards.
According to Raimundo Rojas of National Right to Life, the final steps include expanding abortion through regulatory interpretation, even where no legislature has voted to change the law.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has declared that "women should always have the right to choose."
Pascale Allotey, who runs WHO's reproductive health research program, blames gaps in maternal health on "patriarchy, colonialism, extractive capitalism, fascist geopolitics," Rojas reported.
Those are the people who want to override the laws of sovereign nations.
Forty-three nations are now telling them no, with America back in the lead.
Every new signature makes it harder for Tedros and his bureaucrats to pretend the world agrees that killing unborn children is a human right.
