Texas dad Phillip Flores is a photographer and wanted to use his talents for good.
Inspired by his own 4-year-old daughter, Flores decided it was time to put his plan into action.
And once you hear how this dad showcased the beauty of Down syndrome for the world to see, your bound to be brought to tears.
Flores launched a non-profit “Down for Smiles”
Phillip Flores wanted to use his photography talent to make a difference for families who had children with Down syndrome.
So he launched a nonprofit called “Down for Smiles” with the mission to “share the joy, beauty, and ability within the Down syndrome community through free professional photos.”
What a beautiful mission!
Many people feel uncomfortable interacting with individuals who have intellectual or physical disabilities, but for Flores, it was personal.
His 4-year-old daughter Izzy has Down syndrome, and Flores claimed she was the inspiration and heart behind his desire to help other families.
Flores said “I saw the beauty, and the capability, all the possibilities that Izzy has, possesses, and exudes, and I wanted to show that she’s the light of our lives,” reported Live Action.
Angels on earth
During an interview, Flores called individuals with Down syndrome “angels on earth” and strives to have his nonprofit encourage families raising children with Down syndrome to embrace the love and not be afraid.
Flores hopes his organization will build partnerships on both a local and national level, so he can continue offering free photographs to individuals with Down syndrome.
What a beautiful ministry!
His website if full of stunning photographs capturing the light and love of individuals with Down syndrome – who all have a unique story to tell.
Viewers can click their photo and learn more about each person – along with the ability to sponsor future sessions.
Every life is beautiful and deserves protection
Flores is a shining example of what it means to advocate for every life.
It’s horrifying there still people today who believe a baby with Down syndrome should be aborted – but many pregnant moms – and even doctors – still insist it’s the best path forward.
Hopefully, as people like Flores continue to share the stories of individuals with Down syndrome, it will erase the fear some people still have . . .
. . . along with crush the stereotype that somehow their life is less valuable.
Every life was created in the image of God, and was orchestrated by Him.
Whether a person is born with Down syndrome or not, all life is beautiful and deserves to be protected and celebrated.
Pro-Life Press will keep you up-to-date on any developments to this ongoing story.
