The Catholic Church has long been on the front lines in the battle to protect innocent life.

But under woke Pope Francis, Catholics seem to be retreating from the fray.

And Pope Francis just took this disgusting action against a pro-life Bishop that has Catholics up in arms.

Pope Francis has forcibly removed a conservative bishop based out of Texas.

The Pope’s attack on the pro-life movement

The Vatican, under orders from Pope Francis himself, removed Bishop Joseph E. Strickland from the pastoral governance of the Diocese of Tyler, Texas.

The pope then appointed Bishop Joe Vasquez from Austin, Texas, to serve as the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Tyler until a Vatican ordered apostolic visitation next June.

Strickland was noted for his strong pro-life activism and for his criticisms of Pope Francis for his leftist ideology.

A investigation into Strickland was launched by the Vatican and headed up by Bishop Dennis Sullivan of Camden, New Jersey, and Bishop Emeritus Gerald Kicanas of Tucson, Arizona according to Vatican News.

Following the so-called investigation, Cardinal Daniel Nicholas DiNardo, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Galveston-Houston, issued a statement that read:

“After months of careful consideration by the Dicastery for Bishops and the Holy Father, the decision was reached that the resignation of Bishop Strickland should be requested.”

The Vatican asked Strickland to resign on November 9, but Strickland refused the request.

Then, just two days later, Pope Francis removed Strickland from office.

A leading critic of the Pope

The strong pro-life advocate Strickland was first appointed by Pope Benedict XVI back in 2012.

Strickland, 65, was a leading critic of Pope Francis and often took to social media to challenge the Pope’s leadership and continual attempts to undermine the Church’s teachings.

According to the National Catholic Reporter, Strickland has said the current Pope had made the church “weak.”

He also said the Church was “not clear” under Francis’ leadership.

Then, in a bold move that may have been prophetic, Strickland even dared Pope Francis to “fire him.”

Back in May, Strickland wrote on the X social media platform, “I believe Pope Francis is the Pope but it is time for me to say that I reject his program of undermining the Deposit of Faith. Follow Jesus.”

Strickland is a devout conservative Catholic and a self-described “red-pilled” bishop, who once described President Joseph Biden as an “evil president.”

The actions against Strickland by the Pope has outraged American pro-life Catholics and conservative Catholics from across the globe.

According to the Associated Press, “It is rare for the pope to forcibly remove a bishop from office. Bishops are required to offer to resign when they reach 75. When the Vatican uncovers issues with governance or other problems that require a bishop to leave office before then, the Vatican usually seeks to pressure him to resign for the good of his diocese and the church.

Now that the Pope has taken this rare, and aggressive, action many pro-life activist Catholics are worried he is coming for them next.
