Pope Francis met with Whoopi Goldberg at the Vatican, and the reason why will leave you speechless

Pope Francis has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons lately.

Catholics around the world have been disappointed by some of the Pope’s recent statements.

Recently, Pope Francis garnered even more negative attention when he met with Whoopi Goldberg at the Vatican, and the reason why will leave you speechless.

In a move that has left many pro-lifers stunned, Pope Francis recently met with a surprising group.

The Pope greeted prominent comedians, including outspoken pro-abortion advocates Stephen Colbert, Whoopi Goldberg, and Jimmy Fallon.

And what he said to them has people scratching their heads. . .

During this private audience with around 100 comedians from 15 countries, the Pope made a startling statement: their jokes “make God smile.”

The event, which took place last Friday, included some of the most controversial figures in comedy.

Among them were Stephen Colbert, known for his left-wing The Colbert Report and support for abortion, and Whoopi Goldberg, who has openly promoted LGBT ideology and abortion.

Also present were Jimmy Fallon, Conan O’Brien, Chris Rock, and Fr. James Martin, a priest known for his liberal stances on various issues.

“I look with esteem at you artists who express yourselves in the language of comedy, humor, irony,” Francis said in his address.

“How much wisdom is there!”

He continued, “Of all the professionals working in television, film, theater, print media, with songs, on social media, you are among the most loved, sought after, applauded. Certainly because you are good; but there is also another reason: You have and cultivate the gift of making people laugh.”

Pope Francis’ remarks took a surprising turn when he added, “Remember this, when you manage to make intelligent smiles gush from the lips of even one spectator – this I will now say is not heresy! – you also make God smile.”

For many pro-life Christians, this praise is difficult to reconcile with the comedians’ public stances on issues like abortion and homosexual “marriage.”

These figures have often used their platforms to mock and belittle those who defend the sanctity of life and traditional family values.

Colbert, for instance, despite being a self-professed Catholic, supports same-sex marriage and abortion, contrary to Church teachings.

Whoopi Goldberg has similarly championed abortion rights, arguing that “killing babies in the womb” is not prohibited by the Ten Commandments.

The Pope’s assertion that “humor does not offend, it does not humiliate, it does not nail people down to their faults,” contrasts sharply with the reality that many of these comedians have ridiculed faithful Christians and pro-life advocates.

Chris Rock, for example, has admitted that abortion kills a baby but argues that women should have the right to do so.

Jimmy Fallon has used his late-night platform to attack pro-life policies.

Moreover, the inclusion of individuals like Tig Notaro, a lesbian in a homosexual marriage who had children through in vitro fertilization and surrogacy, further complicates the picture.

The Catholic Church condemns these practices as gravely immoral, yet these figures were celebrated in the Vatican event.

For many pro-lifers, Pope Francis’ engagement with these figures and his supportive statements seem to blur the lines of pro-life values.

The Pope’s commendation of these comedians, despite their advocacy for abortion and other morally contentious issues, is troubling.

It suggests a need for clarity and a reaffirmation of the Church’s unwavering commitment to life and traditional family values.

In this confusing and contentious climate, it is essential for pro-life advocates to continue to stand firm in their convictions.

The sanctity of life from conception to natural death must remain a non-negotiable principle.

While humor and laughter have their place, they should not come at the expense of fundamental moral truths.
