President-elect Donald Trump picked this pro-life attorney to serve as General Counsel of the Office of Management and Budget

The 2024 elections were a huge victory for Donald Trump.

He is already showing he is going to shake things up with his picks for his incoming administration.

And Donald Trump just picked this pro-life attorney to serve as General Counsel of the Office of Management and Budget.

President Donald Trump has announced pro-life attorney Mark Paoletta as General Counsel of the Office of Management and Budget.

Working to defund Planned Parenthood

Paoletta is expected to work closely with Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy at DOGE to defund Planned Parenthood.

Mark Paoletta will return to the Office of Management and Budget as general counsel for the incoming Trump administration.

Paoletta held that same position during President-elect Donald Trump’s first term in office.

Paoletta and Russell Vought, Trump’s pick to lead the powerful budget office, are expected to reshape the civil service system toward political loyalty to the president.

Trump said on social media that Paoletta is “a brilliant and tenacious lawyer” as well as “a conservative warrior.”

“As OMB GC in my First Administration, Mark led the charge to identify funding to build the Southern Border Wall, and worked with then-OMB Director Russ Vought to rein in woke and weaponized Government spending,” Trump said.

Paoletta will also work with the team at the Department of Government Efficiency, led by tech mogul Elon Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, to reduce spending and downsize the federal government, according to the president-elect.

And part of those plans to reduce the size of the federal government is to cut federal spending.

And one of the first on the chopping block is expected to be Planned Parenthood, who currently receives almost $700 million in federal taxpayer dollars.

A long and distinguished career

Paoletta, is a prominent Washington, D.C. lawyer, and served as legal counsel to former Vice President Mike Pence.

He then went on to the Office of Management and Budget in the first Trump administration.

Paoletta is also a close friend of Justice Clarence Thomas and called Thomas “our greatest living American.”

He also wrote a book on Thomas.

Paoletta even represented Thomas’ wife, Virginia “Ginny” Thomas, before the House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021, protests at the U.S. Capitol.

Paoletta also helped prepare two Supreme Court nominees and Cabinet officials for confirmation hearings, including Thomas.

Paoletta also served for 10 years as counsel to a House committee.

As chief counsel for the Energy and Commerce subcommittee, he managed more than 200 investigative hearings.

Currently, Paoletta is also helping Trump’s transition team with proposed Justice Department policies.

He’s been a strong and outspoken critic of the Justice Department under Joe Biden.

Paoletta has called the DOJ “most partisan and weaponized agency in history.”

This pick has heartened pro-lifers who have been nervously anticipating Trump’s picks for key roles.

And the fact that Paoletta is committed not just to helping defund Planned Parenthood, but also is such a vocal critic of the DOJ’s weaponization, sends a strong signal about the likely direction of the Trump administration.

And that signal is being met with applause by many in the pro-life community.
