June is a big month for the Pro-Life cause.
It was one year ago this month that the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
And now Pro-Lifers are organizing a massive rally and gala to celebrate the Supreme Court’s live-saving decision.
June 24, 2022 was a day Pro-Life activists had been praying and working for since 1973.
That was the day the U.S. Supreme Court issued the Dobbs decision, which finally overturned Roe v. Wade.
“A new dream for the Pro-Life movement”
As Kristan Hawkins, President of Students for Life of America said, “This day marks both the celebration of a battle won and a moment to rally the troops for our new opportunities. We are no longer hampered by the 1973 Roe decision in light of the 2022 Dobbs ruling, and we’re excited to finally have more places to fight for the right to Life.”
Hawkins continued, “It’s time to collectively reach for a new dream: The 14th Amendment For All. With Roe gone, we can reaffirm the obvious: our nation was built on the hope of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all of us, including those not yet born.”
And SFLA has been leading the fight in the states to pass solid, meaningful Pro-Life legislation.
Currently, 25 states have passed Pro-Life bills and SFLA is working diligently in many others.
Unfortunately they are also fighting back against the pro-abortion radicals’ attempts to pass pro-abortion laws.
But in addition to working to save even more babies, SFLA and other groups also recognize June 24 is a day to celebrate.
And that’s why they are planning a huge celebration on that day.
“National Celebrate Life Day” Rally and Gala
Students for Life of America (SFLA) is joining with 40 Days for Life, Live Action, and Pro-Life Partners Foundation to host a “National Celebrate Life Day” Rally as well as a Gala on the first anniversary of the Dobbs v. Jackson ruling.
The events will be to both celebrate the reversal of Roe v. Wade and to inspire the Pro-Life community to make abortion both unavailable and unthinkable nationwide.
Both events will take place on Saturday, June 24, 2023.
The stated purpose of the events is to “honor the dedication, sacrifices, and innovations made by many unsung heroes over the first 49 years of the Pro-Life movement, as well as to lay out a vision of where to go next: achieving national protection for preborn Americans under the 14th Amendment of the Constitution.”
The rally will take place on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. from 10:30 a.m. ET to 12:00 p.m.
Speakers at the rally include SFLA President Kristan Hawkins, Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch, Alveda King, niece of Martin Luther King Jr. and founder of Alveda King Ministries, Lila Rose, President of Live Action, and Shawn Carney, President of 40 Days for Life.
More speakers are expected to be announced soon.
The gala will take place at the Renaissance Washington, D.C. Downtown Hotel later that same night.
