Ron DeSantis just showed how serious he is about protecting preborn babies in Florida

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed the Heartbeat Act into law and made abortion after a detectable heartbeat illegal in Florida.

But abortion-on-demand is on the ballot in Florida this fall.

And Ron DeSantis just showed how serious he is about protecting unborn babies in Florida.

In April of 2023, Ron DeSantis signed the Heartbeat Act into law that banned abortion after a detectable heartbeat.

The law went into effect in May.

But the abortion ban may not last for much longer.

That’s because left-wing organizations garnered enough signatures to place an initiative on the ballot this fall that would make abortion-on-demand the law of the land in Florida.

The initiative needs to reach at least 60% support to become law.

And the Abortion Lobby and the Democrats are pouring tens of millions of dollars into Florida to support the initiative in November.

“Amendment 4’s Floridians Protecting Freedom committee raised $11.8 million from April 1 through May 31, leaving it with $7.4 million cash-on-hand,” reported.

Vice President Kamala Harris delivered a speech in Jacksonville, Florida on the day the Heartbeat law went into effect where she said that “this is a fight for freedom — the fundamental freedom to make decisions about one’s own body and not have their government tell them what they’re supposed to do.”

But Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is refusing to allow the Left to buy policy in the Sunshine State.

DeSantis previously urged Floridians to vote against the abortion ballot initiative and has pointed out the deception being used by the Left.

“Just vote ‘NO’ on it,” DeSantis said at a press conference in May.

But DeSantis is doing more than speaking out against the abortion-on-demand initiative.

He’s also spending money on fighting the Left’s propaganda.

DeSantis’ chief of staff, James Uthmeier, just launched the Florida Freedom Fund to raise money to help defeat the pro-abortion initiative.

“As Governor Ron DeSantis continues to lead our great state, the Florida Freedom Fund will champion issues and candidates committed to preserving Floridians’ freedom,” DeSantis spokesperson Taryn Fenske said in a statement. “From up and down ballot races to critical amendments, we’re steadfast in our mission to keep Florida free.”

DeSantis has earned a reputation over the years for his impressive ability to raise money.

He ended his 2022 gubernatorial campaign with $100 million left in the bank.

And now DeSantis is using his fundraising skills to help defeat the Abortion Lobby this fall.
