Federal officials allegedly hid Planned Parenthood's loans behind the code word Benghazi.
Now nearly forty pro-life groups say that funding pipeline needs to end for good.
They just told the Trump administration exactly how to make that happen.
Why Pro-Life Groups Say Defunding Planned Parenthood Is Not Enough Anymore
Nearly 40 pro-life and pro-family organizations sent letters this week to four federal agencies.
Students for Life Action President Kristan Hawkins led the effort.
The letters went to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Attorney General Todd Blanche, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler.
They announced it while Republicans gathered in Dallas for a midterm convention.
They want Planned Parenthood debarred.
Debarment works differently than a funding freeze: once a company is barred, no federal agency or contractor can do business with it, typically for as long as three years.
Students for Life Action Vice President Kristi Hamrick spelled out exactly what that means.
"You are delisted, and no federal agency can do any business with you whatsoever," Hamrick said.
That reaches Title X family planning money, Medicaid dollars, and sex education contracts alike.
Congress already proved how easily ordinary defunding gets reversed.
A one-year Medicaid freeze on abortion providers from last year's budget law expired on July 4, and Planned Parenthood's federal money came right back.
Debarment does not work that way.
"It's time for them to be fired," Hamrick said, "for the failure to offer the very thing they claim to sell."
The Benghazi Codeword Investigators Say Hid Planned Parenthood's PPP Loans
The coalition wants officials to finish a review the Small Business Administration opened in January.
Investigators are looking at $89 million in COVID-era Paycheck Protection Program loans.
Planned Parenthood was not supposed to qualify for those loans in the first place.
Sen. Ted Cruz and a group of Republican colleagues asked the SBA to investigate the very same loans months earlier.
Senate Small Business Committee Chairwoman Joni Ernst went further and found out how Biden-era officials treated those loans internally.
In April 2021, SBA General Counsel Peggy Hamilton emailed her chief of staff asking to "schedule a meeting so we can decision Benghazi."
She meant Planned Parenthood.
Ernst says using a fake code name for a federal loan program may have broken the law that bans concealing government records.
Back in April, Ernst asked the Justice Department to investigate.
She called it a "potential cover-up."
Todd Blanche has had that referral sitting on his desk since spring.
Now he has this letter too.
The new coalition piles on more evidence beyond the loans.
Signers cite trafficking in aborted baby body parts, Medicaid fraud, and a failure to report sex crimes against minors.
Undercover videos first exposed those body-parts trafficking allegations more than a decade ago.
Planned Parenthood still denies every one of them.
The letter also points to what it calls a pattern of health and safety violations and a racially hostile workplace.
The American College of Pediatricians found that four out of five Planned Parenthood vendors sell what the group calls sex-rejecting procedures, including to minors, and the letter cites that report as evidence too.
Planned Parenthood has collected more than $10.35 billion in taxpayer money since 2022, according to the letter.
The Federally Qualified Health Centers Already Outnumbering Planned Parenthood
The coalition says women do not need Planned Parenthood to get care.
There are more than 19,000 federally qualified health centers, service sites, and similar clinics across the country.
About 5,500 of them provide women's health services.
Those centers treated 32.5 million patients in 2024.
Planned Parenthood's own most recent annual report counted just 2.08 million patients.
Federally qualified health centers already outnumber Planned Parenthood's total patient count by more than fifteen to one.
What Planned Parenthood's Latest Annual Report Actually Shows
That same Planned Parenthood report counted 434,450 abortions.
It counted just 7,685 prenatal care visits and 3,038 adoption referrals combined.
Those last two numbers are real mothers who needed somewhere to turn, and pro-life groups say the alternative network exists precisely for them.
Trump promised pro-life voters he would use every tool his administration had against Planned Parenthood.
Debarment is one tool nobody has picked up yet.
Kennedy, Blanche, Bessent, and Loeffler now have four letters and a stack of evidence sitting in front of them.
Every month the investigation drags on is another month Planned Parenthood keeps collecting federal checks.
Pro-life voters helped deliver this administration its power.
Now they want to see exactly what that vote bought them.
