Taking on the Abortion Lobby is not easy.
They’re armed with millions of dollars and have the left-wing media in their back pockets.
And Students for Life President Kristan Hawkins just revealed a hard-to-stomach truth about our movement that every pro-lifer needs to hear.
The November 5 General Election is coming up in just a little over 60 days.
Kamala Harris and Tim Walz make the most radical pro-abortion Democrat Presidential ticket in American history.
They both support taxpayer funded abortions up until birth for any reason with no exceptions.
Kamala Harris even voted against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act in the Senate, which made it legal to allow babies who survive botched abortions to die.
But instead of running ads highlighting the Democrats’ extreme position of abortion up until birth, Republicans are running from the issue in an attempt to appease the media and appear more moderate on the issue.
This is allowing Democrats to set the tone and narrative around the abortion issue.
Unfortunately, Donald Trump has been back and forth on abortion, most recently declaring his support for Amendment 4 in Florida before turning around the next day and announcing his newfound opposition to it.
With Republicans constantly throwing pro-lifers under the bus, it’s easy to feel like voting is just a waste of time.
But Students for Life President Kristan Hawkins has an encouraging message for pro-lifers about this election.
Hawkins makes an excellent case for why it’s critical that pro-life voters help defeat Kamala Harris instead of staying home this fall.
“As many of you know, I’m a student of history and, since there is no playbook for how to end abortion in our nation, I believe history gives us our best guide for how our movement must proceed in the coming years and decades of this long battle,” she wrote in an op-ed for Townhall. “While I have no crystal ball nor do I proclaim to have all the answers, I would like to humbly offer some insights.”
Hawkins is frustrated with Trump just like every other pro-life voter.
But she said that Trump’s waffling is not the “biggest threat to our movement” right now.
Hawkins even said Kamala Harris’ extreme agenda is not the biggest threat to the movement.
According to Hawkins, “the biggest threat is ourselves – our mindsets – which will lead to decreased recruitment, training, and mobilization of our grassroots army of love.”
“Recruiting, training, and mobilizing our army will be key factors to our ultimate success as they were with social movements of our past,” she wrote. “To further prove my point, look at the struggles we face this fall with several late-term abortion ballot referendums,” she continued. “Most will likely be a political loss for our movement because, in most states, a politically sophisticated, organized, and well-funded, state-wide movement is not present.”
She said pro-lifers being silent is the best weapon the enemy has in their arsenal because their mission is to “silence our movement.”
“When our movement is silenced – whether it’s forcibly by the Biden-Harris Administration or through our own frustrations with lack of progress – it’s game over, they win,” she wrote. “Yet, we win, every time abortion is talked about – as the human hearts of most know there’s something not quite ‘right’ with ending the life of your child for convenience.”
She added that what “the mainstream media and the Harris-Walz campaign want, they want us frustrated, angry, and not voting,” which is why “not voting is not an option as this Presidential Campaign is like no other before.”
Hawkins listed some of the broader issues at risk, such as “Do you believe pregnancy centers should have the freedom to operate without having to violate their consciences and refer to abortion facilities? Do you believe that on social media we should have the right to educate Americans about the violence of abortion? Do you believe on campuses that students should be free to continue to recruit, train, and change the minds of our peers to expand our movement without fear of expulsion? Do you believe we must retain the filibuster procedure in the U.S. Senate to prevent a 51 majority from ratifying new states like Washington, D.C. (i.e. new Senators), adding new seats to the Supreme Court, and confirming Attorneys General and Cabinet Secretaries who will decide what they believe should be in the Constitution, not what’s in it?”
If you answered “yes” to those questions, then Hawkins said, “You have only one person who you can vote for President.”
“The questions I posed above were not rhetoric or hype as I wrote them based off of past actions or current promises coming from Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz,” Hawkins continued. “I truly believe that writing in a nonsense name or sitting out this election would be a moral wrong – not only for the lives of children who are on the line but for the future existence of our movement, for our very right to continue to recruit, educate and mobilize.”
Hawkins concluded by encouraging pro-lifers “to guard our mindsets” and “keep moving forward.”
“Do not be discouraged, no matter what November brings,” she wrote. “We won’t win our ultimate victory, the end of abortion, simply once every four years in a voting booth – we will win this by showing up every day.”
If pro-lifers “keep recruiting, keep educating, and keep mobilizing,” then Hawkins said, “we will win.”
Hawkins offered words of encouragement when pro-lifers needed it the most.
And she is right.
If we keep fighting, we will win.
The only way we lose is if pro-lifers like you quit fighting.
Pro-Life Press will keep you up-to-date on any developments to this ongoing story.
