Planned Parenthood got its Medicaid money back on July 4, 2026, America's 250th birthday.
Congress let the one-year ban expire, and the abortion giant went right back to billing taxpayers.
Now a movement built by college students says Trump can shut off that spigot for good with one decision.
Students for Life Asks Trump to Debar and Defund Planned Parenthood
The word is debarment.
On September 9, as Republicans gathered in Dallas, Students for Life Action led nearly 40 pro-life and pro-family groups in sending letters to four of Trump's top officials.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Attorney General Todd Blanche, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler all got the same request.
Investigate Planned Parenthood, and if the evidence holds, ban it from doing business with the federal government.
Debarment would lock the abortion industry's biggest player out of every federal agency and federal contractor for up to three years.
That means Medicaid, Title X family planning grants and the back-door money that flows through third-party contractors.
"We don't need 60 votes in the U.S. Senate for the Trump Administration to take a good look," said Students for Life President Kristan Hawkins.
Her young activists earned the right to ask.
They delivered more than 57,000 petitions to Speaker Mike Johnson and stood in "Defund Planned Parenthood" Life Chains in more than 100 cities across 33 states.
"Pro-life voters, like every part of the GOP coalition, deserve a return on investment," Hawkins said.
Planned Parenthood Abortions Hit a Record 434,450 On $832 Million in Taxpayer Funding
This fight isn't about accounting.
Planned Parenthood's latest annual report shows a record 434,450 abortions in a single year.
That's more than a thousand children every single day.
The same report shows a record $832 million in government funding.
Every one of those dollars came from taxpayers, including millions of Americans who believe abortion ends a human life.
Kelly Loeffler Says Planned Parenthood Was Never Eligible for $88 Million in PPP Loans
The strongest case against Planned Parenthood is already sitting at the Small Business Administration.
During COVID, Planned Parenthood affiliates took Paycheck Protection Program loans meant for struggling small businesses.
Each affiliate claimed to be an independent operation with fewer than 500 employees.
But every one of them is tied to Planned Parenthood Federation of America, and the Trump administration says the SBA's affiliation rules put them far over the limit.
Joe Biden's administration forgave 34 of those loans anyway.
On January 22, 2026, Loeffler's SBA sent letters to 38 affiliates demanding proof they were ever eligible for more than $88 million.
"Planned Parenthood Federation of America was never eligible to receive a dime in pandemic-era relief," Loeffler said.
Affiliates caught submitting false certifications could face repayment, loss of loan forgiveness or referral for civil or criminal penalties.
Planned Parenthood Medicaid Fraud Case Could Cost $1.8 Billion
In 2015, after undercover videos exposed Planned Parenthood's fetal tissue dealings, Texas and Louisiana threw its affiliates out of Medicaid.
A whistleblower says three affiliates kept sending Medicaid bills anyway.
On August 12, 2026, the full Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals tossed Planned Parenthood's appeal and sent the False Claims Act case back to trial in Texas.
Damages could reach $1.8 billion.
Katie Glenn Daniel of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America said Planned Parenthood "felt so entitled to taxpayer money" that it kept "billing Medicaid after being disqualified."
When Trump's Protect Life Rule barred Title X clinics from referring women for abortions in 2019, Planned Parenthood walked away from the program rather than comply.
Planned Parenthood Medicaid Defunding Closed Dozens of Centers in One Year
The one-year Medicaid cutoff worked.
Dozens of Planned Parenthood centers shut their doors before the money came back on July 4.
Live Action founder Lila Rose said Congress "had the chance to honor the founding promise that every human being has a God-given right to life" and failed to extend the defunding.
Regular legislation to finish the job runs straight into the Senate's 60-vote filibuster, where Chuck Schumer's Democrats are waiting to block it.
Debarment goes around that wall entirely.
Under federal rules, an agency official looks at the grounds for debarment, how serious the misconduct was and whether the organization can be trusted with government business today.
An organization that pocketed $88 million it was never eligible for and kept billing Medicaid after being disqualified is going to have a hard time passing that last test.
Trump has the pen, an SBA investigation already underway and a generation of young pro-life activists standing behind him.
All that's left is the signature.
