The pro-life movement is, unfortunately, used to bumping up against opposition in the US Government.

However, a recent situation has brought to light exactly how biased some branches of government are against the pro-life cause.

In a stunning blow to the pro-life movement, the United States Supreme Court has chosen to remain silent, refusing to hear the appeals of brave pro-life activists who risked it all to expose the shocking truth about Planned Parenthood.

The activist group, known as the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), made national headlines in 2015 when they released a series of undercover videos exposing the grisly practices of Planned Parenthood officials and other abortion providers.

The videos, released by CMP, depicted Planned Parenthood officials discussing horrifying activities, including altering abortion procedures to harvest baby body parts for profit.

The revelations sent shockwaves across the nation, sparking outrage and demands for accountability.

However, instead of addressing the grave concerns raised by the videos, the Supreme Court’s decision to remain silent allows earlier court rulings against the pro-life activists to stand.

This means that the activists might be forced to pay millions of dollars in damages, a devastating blow to their cause and their livelihoods.

The legal battles faced by these pro-life warriors revolve around the question of whether the First Amendment’s Free Speech Clause protects undercover journalists exposing what they reasonably believe to be unlawful conduct.

Liberty Counsel, a legal group aiding in the defense, issued a stark warning, emphasizing the far-reaching consequences this decision holds for free speech and undercover journalism.

Their petition to the Supreme Court highlighted the importance of protecting newsgathering journalists who operate under an alias to document and expose what they reasonably believe to be illegal activities.

Since the release of the undercover videos, CMP activists have found themselves entangled in a web of litigation initiated by Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation (NAF).

These organizations have accused the pro-life group of selectively editing the videos and breaching confidentiality agreements.

Despite these claims, CMP publicly released the videos in their entirety, allowing independent verification of their content.

The legal battle, however, has taken a toll on the activists, pushing them to the brink of financial ruin.

In 2020, U.S. District Court Judge William Orrick ordered CMP and its founder, David Daleiden, to pay over $1.2 million in damages.

Last October, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit upheld a lower court ruling, demanding the activists to pay an additional $2.4 million in damages.

The court argued that invoking journalism and the First Amendment does not shield individuals from liability for violations of laws applicable to all members of society.

This decision has sent shockwaves through the pro-life community, raising concerns about the freedom to expose injustices and the protection of whistleblowers.

While the battle for the unborn continues, the silence of the Supreme Court stands as a chilling reminder of the challenges faced by those seeking to unveil the truth and protect the sanctity of life.

As pro-life warriors face heavy fines for their courageous stand, the question looms: Will the pursuit of truth prevail, or will the forces of darkness silence those who dare to expose the atrocities committed in the name of choice?

Only time will tell, but the fight for the unborn, and the right to speak the truth, rages on.

Stay tuned for updates on this pivotal battle for justice and the sanctity of life.
