The radical Left is still fuming over the Supreme Court’s decision last June to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Democrats are determined to make abortion-on-demand the law of the land in America.
And the Left-wing media just got caught trying to downplay the effectiveness of Pro-Life legislation.
Last June, the Supreme Court handed down the Dobbs decision that overturned Roe v. Wade and sent the issue of abortion back to the individual states.
Of course, Democrats are trying to use every trick in the book to get around the decision and codify abortion on demand into federal law.
Joe Biden’s administration is even using taxpayer dollars to skirt the ruling by performing military abortions.
A new Defense Department policy even provides paid leave and reimburses travel costs for service members who cross state lines to have an abortion.
But on the positive side, several states have passed Pro-Life laws following the Dobbs decision.
25 states have passed or started enforcing laws that restrict abortions after 12 weeks or earlier in some places, with 14 states completely banning abortion with very limited exceptions.
But the Left-wing media is manipulating a new report in an effort to demoralize Pro-Life activists across the country.
The Guttmacher Institute is a research and policy organization focused on sexual and reproductive health that supports abortion.
The Institute releases data on the number of abortions in America based on a survey of a core set of abortion providers.
“Abortions have increased substantially in most states where they remain legal post-Dobbs, according to a new analysis,” CNN gleefully reported. “The increases have been particularly significant in states bordering others with bans, suggesting widespread travel for care.”
But CNN and other Left-wing media outlets are misrepresenting the data to fit the Democrats’ pro-abortion narrative.
“Unsurprisingly, the mainstream-media spin has been that pro-life laws enacted since the Dobbs decision have been ineffective at reducing the incidence of abortion,” National Review wrote. “Unsurprisingly, there is much less here than meets the eye.”
National Review then highlighted some flaws in the estimates.
“First, these new abortion estimates are based on samples of abortion facilities, not comprehensive surveys,” National Review wrote. “Guttmacher provides 90 percent confidence intervals that often reflect a great deal of potential variance in their state-level abortion estimates.”
There are also serious questions about the accuracy of the data, such as how the upper abortion estimate for Georgia is more than 80% higher than their lower estimate and their upper estimate for Florida is more than 11,000 abortions above their lower estimate.
Contrary to the media’s claim, thousands of lives have been saved since the Dobbs decision last June.
According to Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America Vice President of State Affairs, Stephen Billy, roughly 60,000 abortions have been prevented since Dobbs.
The Left-wing media is misleading Americans in an effort to demoralize the growing Pro-Life movement.
