U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops just infuriated radical leftists with this bold move

The Catholic Church has found itself embroiled in controversy lately.

One thing no one saw coming was the internal debate over the right to life.

And now the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has infuriated radical leftists with this bold move.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has made a move that has rattled the liberal factions.

They have made significant cuts to the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD).

This program is notorious for funneling millions of dollars to pro-abortion, pro-LGBT, Marxist-aligned organizations since its inception in 1969, and one woke bishop in particular is wildly displeased.

One of the loudest voices of dissent comes from Archbishop John Wester of Santa Fe, New Mexico, a well-known figure for his radical, heterodox views.

Wester, currently the liaison between the USCCB and the controversial Association of U.S. Catholic Priests (AUSCP), is throwing a tantrum over the USCCB’s recent decision.

The AUSCP, which was founded in 2011, claims to be inspired by the Second Vatican Council but supports ideas diametrically opposed to traditional Catholic teachings.

Wester recently attended the AUSCP’s annual meeting to accept its John XXIII award, where left-wing Jesuit Thomas Reese gave a speech on synodality.

Reese, who has rubbed elbows with Joe Biden and supports homosexual clergy and women deacons, perfectly embodies the radical elements Wester aligns with.

In a column for the liberal America Magazine, Wester expressed his outrage over the layoffs at the Justice, Peace, and Human Development office, which oversees the CCHD.

He claimed that these cuts “undermine the mission” of the Church’s social witness.

Wester’s frustration is palpable as he whines about the layoffs, arguing that the department helps bring Catholic social doctrine to life.

But let’s be clear: Wester and his liberal cronies have always viewed faith (and Catholicism, in particular) as a vehicle for their social justice agenda, prioritizing corporate works of mercy over the Church’s true mission.

They seem to forget that Jesus wasn’t a community organizer.

He didn’t come to secure material needs and wants but to liberate us spiritually, opening the gates of heaven.

Phil Lawler from Catholic Culture has applauded the USCCB’s cuts, highlighting the overreaction from liberal bishops like Wester.

Lawler emphasized that these cuts won’t lead to a global catastrophe or impoverish anyone other than the bureaucrats who’ve been living off the donations of the faithful.

He pointed out that the USCCB’s influence on federal government policies has been minimal at best and harmful at worst.

Lawler rightly noted, “The USCCB staff cuts will not increase the likelihood of World War III, nor will they impoverish anyone other than the staffers whose work has been subsidized by the Catholic faithful.”

He added that the policies supported by these liberal bishops often aggravate social problems rather than solve them.

While the recent cuts to the CCHD are a step in the right direction, there’s still much work to be done.

People must continue to expose the CCHD for what it is—a money-laundering scheme that supports left-wing, pro-abortion organizations undermining Christ’s moral teachings.

Any initiative that claims to act on behalf of the Church while funding such agendas is a stain on the Church’s true mission and should be dismantled immediately.

It’s high time the USCCB focuses on genuine acts of faith and charity that align with Christ’s teachings rather than catering to the whims of radical bishops pushing a Marxist, pro-abortion agenda.

Archbishop Wester’s tantrum only underscores the desperate need for the Church to return to its true roots and mission.

For those of us who see through the charade, this latest development is a glimmer of hope that those who claim to follow Christ’s teachings will protect life, inside and outside the womb.
